london, england

I arrived in England 2 days ago, and although I am not yet at Capernwray, I am already loving this new life of mine. For the past two days, I have spent some wonderful time in London with my father. Not only is this a beautiful city, but I have very much enjoyed the time with my dad. We spent most of our time walking along the Thames River, soaking in the beauty of Big Ben, Tower Bridge, and the London Eye. We also spent about thirty minutes on the steps of St. Paul’s Cathedral, simply watching the people around us. Today, we visited Trafalgar Square and then spent time in the Somerset House, a small art museum known for Impressionist art. Considering Impressionism is my favorite art form, especially the works of Degas and Monet, this was the highlight of my day. As I write this, I’m sitting in my cousin’s Notting Hill flat, feet up, and relaxing after the long day. Tomorrow we are traveling to Keswick and exploring the Lake District before heading to Capernwray on Saturday. As much as I am enjoying this traveling, I am most looking forward to settling into the castle. Thats all for now. Cheerio!

  1. Kristin, these are wonderful pictures (as are the ones on FB). Have a fun weekend settling in to the castle. I love reading your updates (and living vicariously through you). Oh to be young again. Love you...Aunt Diane
